I always called it "the devil's scepter" ~ ever since I was a little kid! We used to spray paint it silver and gold and use it for decoration.

Cool! I have never heard it called that and never thought to do that, it is a sort of scepter isn't it?

Thanks for dropping by my photoblog. You are so kind to leave so many nice comments. I thought I'd comment under a pic on your site - I love the November flora, and it's cool to see what upstate NY's late autumn looks like.

P.S. I really enjoyed your post on hunting - it was an interesting journey through the complexity and multi-faceted reactions I often have to the idea of hunting/no hunting. etc. I appreciated hearing your voice on the subject. :)
