My grandmother used to make green tomato pie. I don't personally recommend it, as I always thought it was quite nearly one of the grossest, not mention most disappointing, pies I've ever tasted. But everyone else in my family seemed eager to dig in, so perhaps it's worth looking into?

LOL! You make it sound so appealing, how can I resist? I love you Katie. Maybe I should fry them or something? Do you bread them first I wonder?
Fried green tomatoes:
Slice your green tomatoes.
Dip in egg wash.
Dip in cornmeal (seasoned with salt and pepper) or breadcrumbs.
Fry.
I like them with aioli. Will likes them with, in a tomato-on-tomato pileup, ketchup.
T, my mouth is watering. I knew you'd know how to cook them! :-)
Or, on a variation of tania's recipie, slice, roll in flour, fry. They are fab.
